Shawn Powers and colleagues in the 2CI Transcultural Conflict and Violence faculty working group have organized a public event focused on the human toll of the Syrian civil war. The basic details are that the panel discussion will take place Thursday May 8 at the Carter Library, starting at 7:00 p.m. The panel will be moderated by Jim Clancy from CNN, with panelists from the Carter Center, Al Jazeera, the British Embassy, and academic experts including Juan Cole from the University of Michigan and John Blevins from Emory’s Global Health department.
The event is funded by the British Council, and should be exceptionally interesting. All are welcome to attend.
